Over the last 16 years, I have researched and tested many natural supplements to enhance a raw food diet, create prevention protocols and also for the possible treatment of diseases. The food we have available today lack vitamins and minerals. In my opinion, we need to add supplements to our pet's food. This is a controversial subject among raw feeders. Many feel there is no need to supplement a raw food diet that consists of a variety of raw meat sources. That may be true but very few are able to do that due to financial limitation and limited access to raw food sources. The food in itself even grass-fed organic food may not be as pure as most think they are. There are for example no regulation to the water being used for irrigation. This water can contain chemicals like chloride, fluoride, and bromide that could cause an iodine deficiency (96% of the population is deficient in iodine, same for our pets) That is just one example. Therefore, in my opinion, supplementing the diet even if it is a raw food diet is extremely important.
I continuously test supplements to find the best ones. This is a tedious and time-consuming process since I first test on my own pets for 6 months or longer to make sure there are no side effects and also to see if I can detect any benefits.
I carry a few of these in my supplement store. The prevention packs, in my opinion, is one of the best. If you come from kibble I highly suggest you get your pet(s) on this prevention/detox protocol for 6 months. It's a reasonable prevention plan that may save you thousands of dollars in vet bills. There are of course no guarantees, but so far I'm very satisfied with the results.
