I switched to raw from premium grain-free kibble because Malcolm was doing extremely poorly on kibble. He was severely underweight, got demodex, and suffered from digestive and skin symptoms of food allergies.
I feed mostly venison, beef, and lamb hearts, turkey necks, and beef organs (kidney and liver on alternate days). Occasionally I will add fish and duck, and other game meats when I can get access to them. I feed somewhat less than 10% bone (maybe 5-7%) because that is all my dogs need for solid stools. I supplement with fish oil. Once or twice a week, the dogs get buffalo knuckles for chewing.
Malcolm's health is pretty good. He has some seasonal allergies, which are easily managed with a low dose of prednisone.
