Tazz was a rescue at 6 years of age. He refused to eat raw so we did a homemade diet for him for the first year. Then I was introduced to green beef tripe and that sealed the deal. There isn't much that he won't eat now.
Tazz eats a variety of proteins, but we are discovering that he has developed a sensitivity to beef. It started with a full body staph infection in October 2013 that cleared up once we stopped the dehydrated beef liver treats. He still had eye infections that would come and go and it wasn't until we gave him a solid few days without beef that we noticed an improvement. He's currently on a rabbit elimination diet for a few months.
Tazz doesn't eat any vegetables or fruit as he doesn't digest them properly and ends up with large, voluminous stools.
He was diagnosed with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) in January 2012. At the time, a good prognosis was 4-6 months. Tazz is almost 12 years old and doing very well with a handful of supplements to help with his immune system. His medications include Pimobendan, Digoxin, Benazephril, and Furosemide. His supplements include Dr. Mercola Probiotics, Dr. Mercola Digestive Enzymes, Dr. Mercola Spirugreen, Tollden Gold Nordic Oil, and Green Lipped Mussel.
