Layla is a mixed breed, possibly ACD X. She has been on raw since the day we brought her home. She was a rescue from a shelter in the North Carolina. When we first got her, I thought she had a coat that could be hand stripped. It was dense and coarse and you could pull it out by the handful. It turned out that this was just a result of a poor diet and she was a different dog in a couple of weeks.
Layla gets a variety of nearly every protein source. Chicken, turkey, beef, boar, duck, rabbit, lamb, elk, quail, goat, kangaroo, etc. We also try to give her even more variety through freeze-dried treats like salmon, clams, and mussels. She gets pre-made raw along with raw, meaty bones. She gets some vegetables and fruit, but they aren't a staple in her diet.
The only thing that Layla suffers from is ragweed allergies. She scratches apart her belly every August/September.
